About Us

Jack and Jill Pre-School has been providing childcare in Old Hall, Warrington since 1988 and we are a Ofsted registered ‘GOOD’ provider. We are a registered charity with the Charity Commission and are a committee run provision which means we are not for profit all our profit is fed straight back into the preschool and being committee led means you get your say in how we manage our funds. The committee is made up of parents, grandparents and professionals who all have an interest in keeping the charity running to provide excellent and affordable childcare. All parents are invited to join the committee and are required to have an enhanced DBS check if they wish to join and register with Ofsted as an associated member.

Our Sessions

We are open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm daily.
We run two sessions per day: 09.00-12.00 and 12.00-15.00

We operate Term Time only – Please find our term dates and Pre-School prospectus below –

Sessions cost £15.00 each or £30.00 for a full day. We do not have cooking facilities so children attending full days or afternoon sessions will need to be provided with a packed lunch.

You can contact us any time to arrange a visit and pick up a registration pack. We do recommend putting your child’s name on our waiting list up to a year before their start date as sessions are high in demand and limited.

A healthy Snack is provided on each session and snack menus are changed each term to offer a variety of foods for the children to try. Snack is chargeable at £2.00 per week.

An optional extra curricular charge of £2.00 per week is in place which enables us to carry out outings to museums/libraries, we currently have weekly multi sports and football sessions. Suggestions are welcome of things you would like to see in the future ie. baking/science.

We operate in line with Warrington Borough Council and are able to accept all types of funded hours and other forms of payment such as Tax-Free Childcare and Childcare Vouchers. To find out if your eligible for help with your childcare costs please check this website for useful help and information. http://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk Alternatively feel free to pop in to Jack and Jill and chat to our manager Kadie or Deputy Manager Emily who will be able to assist you further.

Your Child’s Learning Journey

During your child’s time at Jack and Jill Pre-School they will learn through play, our setting follows the Development Matters to track and assess your child’s progress we focus on the 7 different areas of learning and development. When they start at Jack and Jill your child will be assigned a key worker member of staff who will be responsible for your child’s learning progression and getting them school ready, this will also be your first point of contact who will get to know your child and family really well. Tapestry is a great app for staff and parents as you can see what your child has been up to at preschool and you can also upload things that they have been up to at home such as holidays, special celebrations or even writing their name.

You can visit our online learning journals at https://tapestryjournal.com/
